Our lines are open from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. You can also book appointments at the reception desk at any of our surgery locations. Outside of these hours please call 111. You are able to book some GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointments online. You can also use econsult to have your concerns assessed by a clinician within 1 working day, see below for more information. You have the right to express your preference of practitioner.

Why not use econsult instead?

Econsult allows you to get medical advice from one of our clinicians (doctors & nurses) about general health concerns without needing to book an appointment.

Fill out our form to receive a response usually within 2* working days (Monday – Friday excluding Bank Holidays). You can use econsult to ask about general symptoms such as pain, tiredness or dizziness. You can also upload photos for the clinician to review if you are enquiring about something visible.

Please take the time to be as detailed as possible when completing the form in order to get the right support. After reviewing your enquiry a clinician will respond to you via email or text. If you feel your condition can not be addressed without speaking directly to a clinician, please call the surgery to arrange a telephone appointment. Please note if you are completing an econsult on behalf of someone else you will need to complete the form under their name so we are able to locate their patient file. E-consult is not a way to book an appointment please call the surgery if you would rather speak to a clinician.

Please be advised that the econsult service will not be available to use during weekends including Bank Holidays. econsult will still be available between the hours of 08:00-18:30 during the working week. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Making the most of your eConsult

MIn order to make the most of your eConsult we have put together the following guidelines. Please read the following guidance before submitting your eConsult in order for our clinicians to fully understand your query and for you to receive a satisfactory response.

  • Select the most appropriate section for your query for example; rash/spots (only if you are able to supply a clear photo), or urinary tract infections in adults
  • If used correctly, eConsult should help us to resolve your query more efficiently. Incorrect or incomplete eConsults may result in further delays to your query, as we may need to request further information from you and/or request a resubmission with the relevant information
  • Browse the self-care and self-help section for common minor conditions that may not require an appointment with a clinician
  • Be as detailed as possible with your query or request, but please be clear and concise – the more relevant information we have, the easier it is to decide how best to get you the help or response you need
  • Please avoid using 1 online form for multiple problems
  • Please always contact the surgery when you change your mobile or landline number, to enable our response to reach you successfully
  • Please don't submit an econsult via the general advice, contraception or unwell child options. For these concerns please call the surgery to speak with a clinician. Unfortunately we are unable to remove these options from the econsult website.
  • For ongoing problems, please specify the clinician or team member that has been caring for you, this helps with continuity of care. Where possible we will always try and forward your query to that clinician. If that clinician or team member is not available your query will be allocated to the next available appropriate team member
  • If eConsult directs you to ring 111 or 999 or attend A&E, please follow the advice given, and do not try and resubmit your eConsult by providing different answers to the questions
  • Please don’t worry if you are unable to complete an online eConsult – please telephone or attend the surgery and our reception or call centre teams will be pleased to assist you

PLEASE NOTE

The e-consult service will temporarilly close if we reach capacity on that day. In order to safely assess the number of patient queries we receive the service will resume the following morning or next working day.

Chaperone Service

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present during any consultation, examination, or procedure. If you would like a chaperone, please ask your clinician and they will be happy to arrange this for you.

Home Visits

Patients are requested, where possible, to telephone before 11am if a home visit is required that day.

We would request that, apart from the genuinely housebound, all other patients attend the surgery rather than request a home visit because of the extra time home visiting takes. On average four to five patients can be seen in surgery in the time it takes to do a single house call. In addition, the care that can be offered due to the lack of adequate lighting, examination facilities and equipment means that you may not receive as good a service as the doctor may be able to offer if you came to the surgery.

Please note that the doctor will telephone you first to assess the reason for your request. Ultimately it is the doctors right to decide whether or not a visit is appropriate for a particular set of circumstances.

Blood tests/ Phlebotomy Services

Please book your blood test online by clicking on the button adjacent. This is suitable for booking adult and child blood tests.

Please note: Samples need to be dropped off before 12 noon to ensure they are sent to the lab the same day. Please ensure all bottles are fully labelled with your details. The lab will refuse samples that are not correctly labelled.
